Re: What have you been listening to?
Big fan of Tame Impala but for one reason or another didn't pick up on this track till the other week at Glastonbury when both Erol and 2manydjs played it out, and it hasn't left my head since. Probably record of the year so far for me.
Some others I'm into at the minute -

Actually been looking to get into these guys since I read the chapter on "Big Music" in Simon Reynold's "Rip It Up and Start Again".
Can you suggest an entry point?

I love The Teardrop Explodes & Julian Cope is a long-time hero of mine - I'd go as far as to say that his 'Fried' LP is my all-time favourite record (as much as one can definitively claim such a thing).
Musically the obvious entry point is Killimanjaro but there's loads of material on all sides of that masterpiece both leading into and out of TTE
There was an excellent one hour documentary on the whole Liverpool scene that birthed TTE on 6Music recently http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05y0992 sadly it isn't on the iPlayer any more but maybe the link will give you a clue and you can find it somewhere to download - either way there's a tracklist that might offer something though of course the interesting bits are the interview snippets
The best entry to TTE though is to read Julian's FANTASTIC autobiography HEAD ON (it's actually the first part of a two-part autobiography) while listening to Killimanjaro, Wilder & then Copey's 80s solo stuff intermingled with all the other acts that were satellites to the scene - they're all in the book
Enjoy your trip!

Re: What have you been listening to?
Just found this track, it's so simple and it's really beautiful.
138ish bpm.
oldskool.
practically no bass. low end is only coming from the kick and tom.
emotiv and cerebral.
bet it slays the dance floor.
